Then dictate the new location to which you want directions. You can also start the process of getting directions by activating <em>Siri<\/em> and asking for directions.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">You can tap a recent location in the <em>Recents<\/em> list.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tap <em>Favorites<\/em> and the <em>Favorites<\/em> screen will open.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tap the favorite to which you want directions, and the directions will appear.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span id=\"Get_Directions_to_a_Contact8217s_Address\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Get Directions to a Contact&#8217;s Address<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tap <em>Contacts<\/em> on the <em>Options<\/em> screen.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">When the <em>Contacts<\/em> list appears, tap the contact.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">When the contact record appears, turn the <em>Digital Crown<\/em> clockwise to display the map.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tap the map.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span id=\"How_to_Turn_On_Location_Services\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>How to Turn On Location Services<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If Apple Watch prompts you to turn on <em>Location Services<\/em>, it may mean that <em>Location Services<\/em> is either turned off or disabled altogether or turned off for the <em>Maps<\/em> app. In this case, the message <em>Turn On Location Services<\/em> <em>to Allow Maps to Determine Your Location<\/em>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Press <em>Home<\/em> on iPhone.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tap <em>Settings<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tap <em>Privacy<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tap <em>Location Services<\/em> on the <em>Privacy<\/em> screen.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">When the <em>Location Services<\/em> screen displays, set the <em>Location Services<\/em> switch at the top of the screen to <em>On<\/em>.<br \/>\nScroll down, tap <em>Maps<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tap <em>While Using the App<\/em> in the <em>Allow Location Access<\/em> area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span id=\"Starting_to_Get_Directions\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Starting to Get Directions<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After you tap Start to indicate you are starting your journey, Apple Watch will monitor your progress. It will alert you with a gentle tap on the wrist, and turn-signal noises indicating left and right turns, to each subsequent stage of your journey. No matter which way you start getting directions, you follow them in the same way. When you want to see more of the map, switch to iPhone and use Handoff feature. Handoff will put your current map and directions right on the lock screen for instant access.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The details screen appears. It shows the information for the location.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Turn the <em>Digital Crown<\/em> clockwise to see the <em>Directions<\/em> section appears.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tap <em>Walking<\/em> or <em>Driving<\/em>, as needed, and the directions will appear.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span id=\"Get_Directions_for_a_Calendar_Event\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Get Directions for a Calendar Event<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">With the event open in the <em>Calendar App<\/em>, force-touch the screen.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">On the <em>Options<\/em> screen that appears, tap Directions.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">When the <em>Directions<\/em> appear, follow the steps indicated earlier in this article, to get directions. Maps displays a map showing the area.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The green pin will show your current location.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The red pin shows the destination.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The blue line will show the route.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The ETA readout will show your estimated time of arrival assuming you start immediately.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Now tap <em>Start<\/em> and the first direction will appear. Follow it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As you complete this stage, Apple Watch taps you on the wrist to alert you. It also plays turn-signal noises when you need to turn left or right. Maps will display the next direction.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(You can also swipe left to display the next direction).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Continue following the directions.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">When you need to stop the directions, force-touch the screen.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <em>Stop Directions<\/em> icon will appear.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tap <em>Stop Directions,<\/em> and <em>Maps<\/em> will display the map area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span id=\"Use_Handoff_to_iPhone\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Use Handoff to iPhone<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Press <em>Home<\/em> on iPhone, while using <em>Maps<\/em> on Apple Watch.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">When iPhone wakes, the lock screen displays the current map and directions (you must unlock iPhone to use other features than <em>Maps<\/em>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span id=\"Get_Directions_On_iPhone_and_Continue_On_Apple_Watch\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Get Directions On iPhone and Continue On Apple Watch<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Important:<\/em> The Handoff feature enables you to use iPhone to get the directions, and then use Apple Watch while navigating. This approach may be easier, beacuse the iPhone will give you a larger map.
