Monochrome monitors were very common from the 1960s through the 1980s. They are still used in many ways today, like in cash register systems and so on.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Release_Dates\">Release Dates<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Introduced in May 19, 1980<\/li>\n<li>Released to the public in March 1981<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span id=\"Specifications\">Specifications<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Type:<\/strong>\u00a0 Cathode ray tube (CRT), a vacuum tube containing electron guns, and a phosphorescent screen.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Display: <\/strong>CRT 12-inch monochrome (green or white phosphor).
