To reset the iPod, while the device is connected to power, press and hold the <em>Play<\/em> and Menu buttons for at least 5 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">If that doesn\u2019t work and your iPod is still unresponsive, you may need to restore iPod\u2019s software. Thus try to download the iPod Software Updater application.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><em>Your iPod isn\u2019t playing music:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Make sure the<em> Hold<\/em> switch is off.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Make sure the earphone connector is pushed in all the way.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Make sure the volume is turned up.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">If that doesn\u2019t work, push the <em>Play\/Pause<\/em> button, as your iPod may be paused.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>When I connect my iPod to my computer, nothing happens:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Make sure you have the required system software and version of iTunes.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Check the FireWire connections. Unplug the FireWire cable at both ends and make sure no foreign objects are in the FireWire ports.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Then plug the cable back in securely. Use only the Apple 6-pin to 6-pin FireWire cable.<br \/>\nTips and troubleshooting.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">If that doesn\u2019t work, restart your computer.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">If that doesn\u2019t work, your iPod may need to be reset. Connect iPod to the iPod Power Adapter and connect the adapter to a working electrical outlet. If it comes off, you can reinsert it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>My Apple iPod Remote isn\u2019t working:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make sure the remote\u2019s Hold switch is off.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure the remote is plugged firmly into iPod\u2019s headphones port, and that the Apple Earphones are plugged firmly into the remote.<\/li>\n<li>The iPod Remote is included with some models of iPod, and can be purchased separately.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><span id=\"Cleaning_Your_iPod\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong>Cleaning Your iPod<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">As every electronic device, your iPod needs regular cleaning. Follow these general rules when cleaning the outside of your iPod and its components:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Make sure the iPod is unplugged.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">To clean it, use a damp, soft, lint-free cloth.
