The company, OnePlus, has released its OnePlus 2 smartphone. The company announced that it would use an invite system to handle the sales of its new smartphone, exclusively through the company’s website. According to OnePlus, the invite system is very efficient. Indeed, within 72 hours of being launched, the OnePlus 2 had already accumulated over 1 million reservations. On October 12, 2015, OnePlus held its first open-sale for one hour, which was available in 32 countries via the company’s website.

The OnePlus 2 features a fresh design, in which the handset incorporates an aluminum-magnesium alloy chassis. Users have the option to customize back covers with choices of Kevlar or assorted wood. The OnePlus 2 has a bright 5.5″ LCD, 1920 x 1080 full HD resolution screen. It has Corning Gorilla Glass protection, and its fingerprint sensor can serve as a home button. The phone looks solid and secure. Its power/lock key is located on the right, below the volume buttons, which are easy to locate and press. On the opposite side there’s a novel sliding switch.

This slider enables you to quickly toggle your notifications between three states: off, priority only, and all. Sometimes, these notifications can be especially useful.

The OnePlus 2 has two versions. The White Basic version, which features 16 GB of internal storage, and 3 GB LPDDR4 RAM, and the Sandstone Black Premium version, which has 64 GB of internal storage with 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM. The OnePlus 2 comes with Android 5.1 “Lollipop”, with OnePlus’ OxygenOS version 2.0 on top of it.

This smartphone has a low price for its features. OnePlus has dubbed it the 2016 “Flagship Killer”. This is an audacious claim, because the device is not without its flaws. There’s no NFC, no microSD, and no fast or wireless charging options. Also, the battery cannot be removed. However, as previously stated, the price is low and many specs presented by OnePlus 2 are tempting.
