Sync and organize Music on your iPhone

It’s the Music tab that gives you options for effectively controlling the process if you want to sync music to your iPhone. The tab allows you to determine how to do it what music do you really want to have.

You must check Sync Music in order to sync music to your iPhone. You’ll see Entire Music Library which will sync all your iTunes music to your iPhone. However, this option works if your phone’s storage is bigger than your library. If not, you won’t be able to enjoy all your preferred songs on your smartphone. Thus the option Sync only checked songs and videos is very useful if your iTunes library is bigger than the iPhone’s capacity. Uncheck the box to the left of songs/video you don’t want to sync.

You might choose to download only selected artists or playlists to your device. Sync playlists by checking the boxes on the left or all music by particular artists by checking the boxes on the right. Sync all music from an album or in a particular genre, by clicking the boxes at the bottom.

In fact, option Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected ensures that iTunes launches and syncs the iPhone when you connect it. May be, you should uncheck this option if you connect your smartphone to multiple computers or play music through other computers.

The option Convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC lets you converts songs to the AAC format during syncing which is useful if your songs are encoded in other formats or at higher bit rates, which results in larger files.

Another interesting option allows you to Manually manage music and videos. It disables automated syncing and manually adds and removes all content on your iPhone. But this option is not recommended unless you’ve got a specific reason.

You can also include music videos syncs them or include voice memos syncs voice recordings to/from your iPhone.

You should also remember that the Tones tab allows you to manage ringtones. You can choose thus what ringtone you decide to sync from iTunes to your iPhone. To sync ringtones, choose to sync either Selected Tones or All tones. If you choose Selected Tones, choose what you want to sync by checking the boxes next to each tone. If you choose All Tones, there’s nothing else to do, as all the tones will be synced.
