The Mac mini (2.0GHz Intel Core i7, Mid/Server 2011) is a revised server iteration of the Mac mini (2.7GHz Intel Core i7, Mid 2011) with a faster quad-core Intel processor and two 500 GB hard drives. It’s a net-top in a cuboid aluminum casing with an internal power unit, a Thunderbolt port, a removable panel on the bottom to provide an access to upgradeable RAM and no internal optical drive. The Mac mini (2.0GHz Intel Core i7, Mid/Server 2011) features a 2.0 GHz Intel Core i7 (2635QM) processor, 4GB of RAM (PC2-10600), two 500 GB Ultra ATA/100 hard drives (7200 RPM) and Intel HD Graphics 3000 graphics with 384 MB of integrated memory. The net top has an HDMI video out and a Thunderbolt port, four USB 2.0 ports and one Firewire 800 port, a built-in mono-speaker, an audio-out mini-jack and an audio line-in/digital audio input. As for the wireless, the Mac mini Core i7 / 2.0 has standard AirPort Extreme (802.11a/b/g/n) and Bluetooth 4.0. The cooling system is fanless. - Mac mini was an ideal solution for home or small business before TimeCapsule. The Lion Server supports both RAID 0 and RAID 1. See “RAIDS: Know how to back up your data on home servers”. But you have to keep in mind, that Mac mini is not a fully functional heavy-duty server and is prone to faults, especially caused by power failure or blackout, water or fire damage.
