5 Apple’ Vision Pro Headset Important Features

Apple’s Vision Pro headset has garnered widespread acclaim for its immersive experience and exceptional build quality according to various online reviews. However, it’s not without its shortcomings, as some anticipated features are conspicuously absent.

We’ve identified five features, which we hope Apple will address either through upcoming software updates or in future iterations of the new headset.

1. Bluetooth Mouse Compatibility

The Vision Pro stands out for its innovative control methods, allowing users to interact with apps and games using eye movements and hand gestures. Despite these advancements, the absence of support for traditional input devices like a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard is noticeable, especially for users who prefer a conventional setup for work or leisure.

2. Find My Location Tracking

Given the Vision Pro’s hefty starting price of $3,499, losing such an expensive gadget is a real concern. Surprisingly, the device lacks Find My location tracking, a feature available for many other Apple products. While Activation Lock provides some security against theft, the inability to track the device’s location is a significant oversight we hope Apple will rectify.

3. Multi-Monitor Support

Apple’s promotional materials suggested the Vision Pro would revolutionize productivity by allowing users to create a virtual multi-monitor setup. However, this functionality has limitations, particularly concerning extending a MacBook to multiple virtual displays and the apparent lack of support for desktop Macs with the Vision Pro screens.

4. Third-Party Battery Options

The Vision Pro’s unique standalone battery design has drawn attention and speculation about the possibility of using third-party batteries for extended use. Unfortunately, recent revelations indicate that the battery’s proprietary connector design may preclude this option, leaving users dependent on Apple’s battery solutions and unable to swap batteries for longer, uninterrupted use.

5. Absence of Key Third-Party Apps

Despite Apple announcing over 600 bespoke apps for the Vision Pro, the absence of popular third-party apps like YouTube, Netflix, and Spotify is notable. While one developer has addressed the lack of a YouTube app, the cautious approach from some app developers reflects uncertainty about the Vision Pro’s market penetration. Success in sales could encourage these and other missing apps to join Apple’s platform.

In summary, while the Vision Pro headset introduces groundbreaking technology and design, these missing features highlight areas for potential improvement. We remain hopeful that Apple will address these gaps to enhance the Vision Pro’s functionality and user experience.
