ChatBot Integrated into LinkedIn or How Artificial Intelligence Can Help You to Find Job

ChatGPT is already used by many internet users to write their resumes, get advice, etc. But soon, if you wish to use generative artificial intelligence to progress in your career, you will also be able to use the AI specifically designed for this purpose by LinkedIn. Recently, Microsoft’s professional social network surpassed one billion users. To celebrate this, the Redmond firm introduced a new chatbot integrated into LinkedIn.

This AI is similar to ChatGPT or Bing Chat, integrated into Microsoft’s search engine. However, LinkedIn’s AI is more tailored to job searching and consuming content found on the social network. To make the user more productive, LinkedIn offers new buttons that allow the chatbot to be instantly invoked, for instance, to get the key points of an article scrolling on the newsfeed.

“Our new AI-based experience will analyze the posts in your feed (from comments to articles to conversations) and reveal the main opportunities for you… in a single click… in a few seconds. It will take on the hard work of analyzing long articles, videos, and posts and give you insights on how the information can be useful to you,” explains the social network.

An AI for job searching

In addition, it’s also possible to call on the LinkedIn chatbot to find out what’s happening in the world. The AI will then provide answers based on the information available on LinkedIn and the web. But more importantly, the new experience offered by Microsoft will also assist users during a job search.

The chatbot can help users find job vacancies. And when it finds an advertisement, it can consult the AI to see if the user’s profile matches the job. The user can also call on the artificial intelligence to identify ways to better fit the job in question or assist the user in preparing for an interview.

In addition, it’s also possible to call on the LinkedIn chatbot to find out what’s happening in the world.

A virtual coach

“Our new job search experience redefines what is possible. Whether it’s transparently assessing if a particular job is right for you or identifying the best way to position yourself for that job, we’ll help you find the job of your dreams and boost your confidence,” says Tomer Cohen, Product Manager at LinkedIn.

In essence, it’s a kind of career coach powered by artificial intelligence. And according to a CNBC article, the new feature is based on GPT-4, the improved version of ChatGPT. The only downside is that this new experience is only available for LinkedIn’s premium users. Furthermore, Microsoft has decided to roll it out gradually. As a result, only a few users of this premium offering will benefit from the new chatbot. However, it’s not specified if the feature is already available in French.

What Is LinkedIn

LinkedIn is a social media platform designed specifically for the business community.

  5. Content Sharing: Just like other social media platforms, users can post updates, share articles, write and publish their own articles, comment on others’ posts, and more.
  6. Learning: LinkedIn offers a “Learning” section, where members can access a vast range of online courses on various topics, from tech skills to leadership.
  7. Groups: Users can join groups based on professional interests, where they can participate in discussions, share articles, and network with professionals within the same industry or area of interest.

Founded in December 2002 by Reid Hoffman and a team of co-founders, LinkedIn was officially launched in May 2003. Since then, it has grown to become one of the largest professional networking sites in the world. In 2016, Microsoft acquired LinkedIn for approximately $26.2 billion.
