The Apple MacBook Air for 2023 has come in both 13-inch and 15-inch models. These new models are an upgrade from the M2 version that was released in 2022, and the new MacBook Airs were announced at WWDC 2023 in Juin.
The new 13-inch MacBook Air maintains its current design, which is similar to the MacBook Pro from late 2021. The available colors remain Midnight, Starlight, Silver, and Space Gray. It continues to be a lightweight machine with a crisp display, fingerprint reader, and no touch bar.
The display of the MacBook Air for 2022 is a 13.6-inch panel with a native resolution of 2560-by-1664 native resolution and 224 pixels per inch, falling into Apple’s “Retina” certification. The 2023 MacBook Air doesn’t have the improved contrast ratio or variable frame rates of the iPad. It’s also sticks with a 60Hz refresh rate, which could potentially lead to better battery life compared to a 120Hz one.
Here are some of the main differences between the MacBook Air 15-inch and MacBook Air 13-inch:
Both laptops have the same M2 chip, fanless design, 1080p FaceTime camera, Touch ID sensor, backlit keyboard, Force Touch trackpad, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, and two Thunderbolt 4 ports.
The price for the 13-inch MacBook Air 2023 starts at $999, with additional options for increased RAM, SSD or more GPU cores. Naturally the prices vary depending on the configuration, retailer, and availability. Here are some of the prices:
