Traffic to U.S. e-commerce Sites From AI Chatbots Increased
With the arrival and success of generative conversational AI, people’s online habits began to change. As these AI chatbots became more robust and provided more information, they became, for many, assistants that help them make decisions. Now, a study by Adobe has shown that traffic arriving at e-commerce sites in the United States from these intelligent chatbots continues to grow.
Adobe presented research analyzing the traffic that intelligent chatbots like ChatGPT or Claude are directing to e-commerce platforms. They revealed that this traffic increased by 1,200% from July 2024 to the present.
“This shows the change in consumer behavior over a seven-month period. While AI-generated traffic remains modest compared to other channels, its growth has been notable: it doubles every two months since September 2024,” the company explained.
It’s clear that this is just the beginning. Companies developing this type of AI technology are well aware that their users are using them in this way. This will lead them to improve their systems to provide more tools for that number to continue growing.

In the context of the global situation, an important fact to note: Google made a record purchase, acquiring Wiz for $32 billion. This week, Alphabet, Google’s parent company, bought the cybersecurity company Wiz in what was a record acquisition for Google in monetary terms, paying $32 billion.
Wiz was founded in 2020 and quickly became one of the most important companies in the sector for developing a system that allows companies to have complete visibility of their cloud environments, identifying vulnerabilities, misconfigurations that could generate attacks, and security risks, among other things.
The reasons why Google is acquiring this company are clear: first, to demonstrate the importance it is giving to its cloud services, and second, to be able to steal some market share from Amazon’s AWS and Microsoft’s Azure.
