BitTorrent Sites Blocks Windows 10 Users

BitTorrent vs. Windows 10 – the war is coming?

If you are a devoted user of BitTorrent, you may have already heard about an unpleasant surprise; BitTorrent sites have started to block Windows 10 users. So, you may want to think twice before installing Windows 10, even if the new system is gaining fans from all over the world.

Many users are growing distrustful of Windows 10’s privacy settings and because of this, a growing number of BitTorrent sites have decided to block Windows 10 users completely. Some others have announced that they are considering blocking Windows 10 users from accessing torrents from their site. Bittorrent and Windows 10 seem to dislike each other.

For example, in a YouTube video, iTS BitTorrent site says: “Windows 10 is nothing more than a spy tool that will keep track of every action, email, conversation, video, picture, or anything else that you do on your computer.” (This belief is based off of Microsoft’s new unified services and privacy agreements.) In order to back up their statement, BitTorrent refers to a clause in Window’s policy that states: “We may automatically check your version of the software and download software updates or configuration changes, including those that prevent you from accessing the Services, playing counterfeit games, or using unauthorized hardware peripheral devices.”

Some other well-known BitTorrent trackers such as BB or FSC, are also discouraging their users from accessing their sites from Windows 10 (Pirate Bay: the world’s biggest BitTorrent site, hasn’t said a word about the issue until today).

There is a possibility to lock Windows 10’s privacy settings down; however, the BitTorrent sites are deeply concerned that even with these privacy settings down, Windows 10 will be able to transmit some data about the computers which use their system back to Microsoft. The question is now: Who does Microsoft share our data with? According to iTS administrators, “Microsoft decided to revoke any kind of data protection and submit whatever they can gather to not only themselves, but also others. One of those is one of the largest anti-piracy companies called MarkMonitor. Amongst other things, Windows 10 sends the contents of your local disks directly to one of their servers. Obviously, this goes way too far and is a serious threat to sites like ours, which is why we had to take measures.”

We all know that BitTorrent sites offer access to torrents of copyright materials such as movies, music, TV shows, and so on. So, we repeat that if you are a BitTorrent user, we suggest you take a seat and wait to see what else happens before you make a decision to download Windows 10.
