Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is a phablet with an edgeless curved screen. The size of it is over six inches and as a smartphone it is hard to control with one hand. Samsung engineers added an S-Pen and tucked it neatly into the casing next to the USB Type-C socket. But the size, the curved edges and the HDR 10 support doesn’t embrace all of the features of the screen. Samsung also introduced the always-on display, which will allow you to write on the display with your S-pen. The handwritten note can be saved and sent as a text message or as a GIF.

There is still no capacious battery behind all these amazing features, it has only 3000 mAh. Obviously, engineers are afraid of combustions and didn’t dare to enhance the capacity, but quick charge will improve the situation.

The back camera is dual with two sensors, optical image stabilization, 2x zoom and a two-tone flash. The sensor can add a bokeh effect to your pictures. The front camera has less megapixels than the back one (8 mpx vs. 12 mpx). Even Chinese B-brands feature equal number of megapixels for both cameras. So to me it is just such a strange feature to have for a flagship device.

The iris scanner didn’t replace the fingerprint sensor completely, it seems. Both ID methods remained. But reviewers are claiming that reaching the fingerprint sensor on the back with one finger can be a problem.

No one has shared yet, if the new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 catches cell network well and whether or not the signal is stable.
