The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is going to be living up to everyone’s wildest dreams. It’s going to have an OLED edgeless screen, a stylus support, and a quick chip. The phablet is rather long for an easy one-hand control. Usually, we text with our thumb but with the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 it is a tricky thing to do. Anyway, you need both of your hands to use the stylus on this phone. The S-Pen is tucked into the casing next to the USB Type-C socket on the bottom. The Samsung brand stylus comes inside the box. It was very kind of the Korean phone-makers to include the Stylus with the phone. The designers want us to use the S-Pen as often as possible. They implemented an always-on display to write on, and all you have to do is to pull out the stylus and write a note or a message. The lines you draw can also be sent as a GIF. It adds some personal flavor to your chats, doesn’t it?
We also hope, the display won’t be easily breakable. If it ends up being too fragile it might be easy to break when taking the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 apart. Since the fingerprint sensor moved to the back panel, one should be very careful to not damage the sensor’s cable.
The battery is placed dead-center and the vibrating motor is in the bottom right corner. The battery is weaker than that of the Galaxy Note 7, but the reduction of its capacity is determined by fire hazards. The layout revision and downgrade of power source are to ensure the phone safety for users.
As for the communication units, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 shares some of them with iPhones. These include: a Avago AFEM-9053 power amplification module, and a Qualcomm PM8986 PMIC Gigabit module.
The teardown performed by iFixit also confirmed the optical image stabilization system. Samsung Galaxy Note 8 sports four cameras, two rear and two front ones. They all feature little magnets that help to make various effects while taking pictures.
For instance, the bokeh effect or Live Focus. The Live Focus button switches to the telephoto lens, and adds a slider to adjust the amount of blur applied to the background. While Life Focus is still on, a user can activate Dual Capture to enhance image options. In Dual Capture mode the phone saves two photos with each press of the shutter button. The second picture is taken with a wide-angle camera.
Another nice touch from the Korean phone creators is that they didn’t pull the plug on any sockets. The USB Type-C and the 3.5 mm jack remain and they are modular! If any damage occurs, they can be removed and replaced.
All considered, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 i think, has every right to claim the title as “flagship phone of the year. “
