The Korean company Samsung seems to know more about the future of Apple’s Secret Projects is preparing to unveil.
An internal memo from Samsung Securities, the investment division of the same-named company, reveals the next products Apple might unveil in the short, medium, and long term. It mentions that an iPad with an OLED panel is expected this year, echoing numerous rumors previously published in favor of this theory. Meanwhile, the report mentions a fourth-generation iPhone SE for 2025. The device could be released during this period with a 6.1-inch display and a design reminiscent of the iPhone 14, ditching Touch ID in favor of facial recognition with the TrueDepth sensor and Face ID.
Samsung also believes a foldable iPad will be introduced in 2027, but this is less certain. As a reminder, it is known that Apple has been working on flexible panels for nearly a decade now – but no patent has yet materialized in stores. A folding iPhone is also rumored to be in development, but its release date remains unclear, though 2026 is mentioned here. As a reminder, Samsung offers its own alternatives, notably with the Galaxy Z Flip 5 or its successor, whose technical specifications were just recently leaked in detail.
Along with this, Samsung speculates that the first MacBook with OLED screens will be introduced in 2026. This timeline also seems to coincide with other rumors, particularly those from Ming-Chi Kuo and Mark Gurman, two analysts closely followed by Apple investors. For Apple, the Mac sector isn’t the most lucrative: iPhones are the best sellers across all categories. However, macOS-running laptops have barely felt the effects of the crisis, unlike all major PC manufacturers.
Two MacBook Pros are on the agenda for 2026. One with a 14.2-inch display, and the other with a 16.2-inch screen. These are the same diagonals as those of the MacBook Pro M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max available in stores today. For a more affordable price, Apple also offers the 15-inch M3 MacBook Air, which finally supports dual external monitors, unlike its predecessor. However, it’s worth noting that Windows PCs are generally much cheaper for equivalent configurations.
Returning to iPhones, it’s important to note that Samsung also estimates that models could be equipped with a triple 48-megapixel rear camera sensor by 2025. Currently, only the wide-angle lens has this resolution with the iPhone 15. The ultra-wide and telephoto lenses are thus limited to twelve megapixels, which probably explains why most specialized comparisons do not rank the iPhone 15 Pro as the best camera phones on the market. Indeed, the higher the megapixel count, the less grain is present, and thus the higher the quality of the images. Of course, this isn’t the only metric to follow for obtaining images with good rendering: sensor size and aperture are also key purchasing criteria for professionals.
The 2025 iPhones could also include up to twelve gigabytes of RAM, according to Samsung Securities. For comparison, there are only eight gigabytes on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max today, putting them a step behind the competition.
