This enhancement might make ChatGPT seem more human-like and could be a step toward achieving General AI, where an AI’s cognitive processes closely resemble human brain function.
OpenAI revealed this experimental feature in a recent blog post, stating that both the free and ChatGPT Plus versions are being tested for their ability to retain information from user interactions over time.
With this update, ChatGPT can now remember information shared during conversations, whether it’s specific instructions or casual mentions, like a preference for peanut butter on cinnamon raisin bagels.
