The goal would be to announce the base models of its new generation of smartphones, following the release of the Pro versions. Apple is preparing a new wave of product launches for the first half of 2027, according to consensus among various analysts and specialized media outlets closely tracking the Cupertino company. Among the new additions would be the iPhone 18, the iPhone 18e, the iPhone Air 2, an iPad Air featuring an OLED screen, and several updates to the Mac lineup.

The shift stems from a schedule change that already became visible in September 2026, when Apple introduced the iPhone 18 Pro, the Pro Max, and its first foldable, the iPhone Duo, while omitting the standard model of the series from the lineup. As a result, the more accessible devices are slated for the spring of the Northern Hemisphere the following year.

Which iPhones Apple would launch in early 2027

Mark Gurman, a journalist at Bloomberg, places the launch of the iPhone 18, the iPhone 18e, and the iPhone Air 2 between March and June 2027. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo similarly places the next lower-tier models in the first half of that year.

For the standard iPhone 18, expectations include an A20 chip manufactured using a 2-nanometer process, increased memory, a smaller Dynamic Island, and the C2 modem, according to a rumor roundup compiled by the tech site MacRumors.

The iPhone 18e is expected to follow the formula of the current iPhone 17e, which went on sale in March 2026 for $599 with 256 GB of storage in the United States. Kuo reported that the 2027 model would increase from 8 GB to 9 GB of RAM, a detail also echoed by analyst Jeff Pu.

Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station stated on Weibo that the 18e would sport a 6.12-inch 60 Hz display without ProMotion technology, while the 48-megapixel rear camera would remain unchanged from the current model.

There is no consensus, however, regarding the front design: some accounts mention a notch while others point to a Dynamic Island, with no source confirming either option with certainty. Nor is there documented support for the rumored $599 price tag or an N2 connectivity chip—data currently circulating without attribution to any identifiable analyst.

The second-generation iPhone Air is expected to undergo the group’s most noticeable upgrade. Jeff Pu, cited by MacRumors, anticipates a second 48-megapixel rear camera with an ultra-wide lens, joining the existing Fusion camera.

The phone would also incorporate the A20 Pro chip—likewise manufactured on TSMC’s 2-nanometer process—along with N2 chips for wireless connectivity and C2 for 5G networks. According to those projections, it would retain the 6.5-inch screen, 12 GB of RAM, and the 18-megapixel Center Stage front camera.

MacRumors places its arrival in the first quarter of 2027, simultaneously with the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e.

What other products Apple would launch besides iPhones

In addition to the three iPhones, the lineup includes an iPad Air powered by an M5 chip with an OLED display, an iPad Pro featuring an M6 chip, and an entry-level iPad equipped with Siri AI features.

On the computer front, the list includes a MacBook Air with an M6 chip and a MacBook Neo with an A19 Pro chip. The lineup is completed by updates to the Apple Pencil Pro and Apple Pencil featuring USB-C connectivity.

The report does not specify individual release dates for each product, nor whether Apple will unveil them in a single event or stagger them across the first few months of the year.

Other high-end devices are targeting a different timeframe prior to this wave. According to MacRumors, 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with touchscreen OLED displays are already being tested on macOS 27.1, an update planned for late October 2026.

Those machines are expected to feature M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, a thinner design, and a Dynamic Island in place of the current notch, though Apple has not confirmed names, pricing, or announcement dates.

Belonging to that same earlier stage are the HomePod mini with Siri AI, the Apple TV with Siri AI, two high-end touch-panel MacBooks, an iPad Mini, a new iMac, and an additional MacBook Pro refresh, as Gurman had previously reported.

The company has also not confirmed any of the commercial names, specifications, or launch dates cited by these analysts and media outlets for the spring 2027 window.
