Both iPhones have been unveiled by Apple CEO Tim Cook on September 7, 2016, at Apple’s Keynote Event, which was held at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.
The new Apple smartphones have new and amazing features, updated software, and iOS 10, all of which resulted in improved processing speed and increased battery life, along with a better quality cameras.
The following are some of the new features:
iPhone 7: Wireless audio 40, wireless video 13, Wi-Fi browsing 14, LTE browsing 12, 3g browsing 12, 3G talk (wireless) 14. The iPhone 7 lasts 2 hours longer than the iPhone 6s, and lasts 2 hours longer than iPhone 6s Plus.
iPhone 7 Plus: Wireless audio 60, wireless video 14, Wi-Fi Browsing 15. LTE browsing 13, 3g browsing 13, 3G talk (wireless) 21, and lasts 1 hour longer than iPhone 6s Plus.
The pre-installed OS: iOS10 (it will be released on September 13).
iPhone 7 Specifications: 12 MP camera, 4.7” Retina HD display with wide color gamut, optical image stabilization, 7MP FaceTime HD camera, new Home button, water and dust resistant, stereo speakers, A10 Fusion chip LTE Advanced up to 450 Mbps.
iPhone 7 Plus Specifications: 12MP wide-angle and telephoto cameras, 5.5” Retina HD display with wide color gamut, optical image stabilization, 7MP FaceTime HD camera, water and dust resistant, new Home button, stereo speakers, A10 fusuion chip, LTE Advanced up to 450 Mbps
The new Apple phones are even more ecologically friendly than their predecessors: they both have a mercury-free LED-backlit display, an arsenic free display glass, they are BFR-free, Berylium-free, and PVC-free. They are also made of recyclable aluminum.
Prices will start from $649 (for 16 GB) and this model will also be marketed in 64 GB and 128 GB versions. As for the iPhone 7 Plus, it starts from $769 (32 GB) and will be supplied in 32 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB versions.
Users will be able to pre-order their new phones on September 9, and they will be available on September 16.
Apple also offers its new iPhone Upgrade Program for as low as $27 per month (for iPhone 7) or $32 (for iPhone 7 Plus). This program is linked to certain carriers and includes a new iPhone every year, as soon as it appears on the market.
In addition to the new phones, Tim Cook and his parade of executives announced the official release dates for iOS 10 (September 13), as well as the new Apple Watch series, watchOS 3, along with some other features.
