The Galaxy that is not so far away: what do we know so far about Samsung’s next product launch
So the new Samsung Galaxy product range, branded Galaxy 23, is just around the corner. Not only is it to be introduced on the very first day of February, you even will be able to watch the whole shebang live online, and the pre-sales have already begun, even though it is not yet certain what exactly will be launched on the 1st of February. That is, many expect to see the Ultra and Plus models of the new brand on display there and look forward to enjoying all the power of the latter’s camera which sports a whopping 200 megapixels… But we won’t know for sure until we know.
And until then we’ll have to make do with rumors and deductions… the first of which can be drawn right from the symbol on this party invite. Because the said symbol looks strikingly similar to what we saw on the previously leaked visuals… and to the existing Galaxy Ultra version (S22, that is). And this makes the Ultra 23 debuting at this event even more likely than it seemed before.
Then there are some interesting tidbits from some interested parties, first and foremost of them being, naturally, Qualcomm. This particular company all but claims outright that they have supplied these brand new Galaxies with their latest Snapdragon offering, namely, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. And this is enough of a speed (and processing might) increase to get any gadget lover, let alone Samsung fans, to sit up and take notice. After all, current Galaxies are more than impressive already,so improving on that would mean some seriously lightning fast performance. (Which, in turn. bodes well for all the upcoming high-end Samsung phones).
Speaking of light, by the way, the rumors are growing about a rather substantial upgrade in the department of night photography these new Ultra will boast. (Just Ultras, though: no one is saying anything like that regarding the Plus version. But then again, it doesn’t come with the aforementioned 200mp-equipped behemoth of camera… though, considering what the manufacturer in question has already achieved in terms of picture-taking level, “even” the non-Ultra Galaxy will likely satisfy a lot of customers anyway).
A little less exciting bit of gossip on this topic suggests that the Ultra and Plus will sport no further significant physical enhancements to the existing models, and we’ll have until 2024 (at least) for any drastic developments. However, as far as the software front is concerned, the very tight-lippedness of the powers that be instils a lot of hope in many a gizmohead. For them, this silence itself suggests a possibility of a very pleasant surprise related to One UI… and they may actually be right, since in this respect, Galaxy catching up with Pixel is long overdue. There is something seriously wrong in the world where Google outdoes Samsung in the field of smartphones.
More worrying is the equal lack of the word on how much these upcoming Galaxies will cost. Not that we are expecting any mercy here, but still… Guess, the public will have to brace themselves.
But if your love to picture-taking, or Samsung itself, so much that such trifles won’t stop you from getting your hands on one of these new shiny Galaxies (and, very probably, some pretty earphones bundled with them), you better contact your nearest shop and reserve it in advance. And then, by the way, you’ll have some nice store credit (up to $100, in fact) that will soften the financial blow, so there’s no point in spinning it out.
