A Sudden Bundle or Watch Out for What Your iPhone Will Soon Be Able to Do (Even Without AppleWatch)

If you are wondering whether to finally buy an Apple Watch in addition to your iPhone, and the Fitness Plus service is the deal-breaker for you in this regard, then this article may give you a hint why your money might be better spent… on some different Apple gizmo. Or maybe not.

Hello, all you good Apple-minded people out there, it’s us, your loyal Gadget-land town criers again… and with yet another bit of some handy info, to boot. To wit, this is the news specifically for those of you who are considering a purchase of Apple Watch in the near future.

To wit, this is the news specifically for those of you who are considering a purchase of Apple Watch in the near future.

Not that we have anything at all against this fine device (not in our wildest dreams, natch). But just in case you mean to buy it strictly for improving your physical form – that is, to get Apple Fitness Plus at the tips of your fingers – you might just pause a little and look at the version of your current iPhone and the OS it runs.

Because in an unlikely (yeah, right) case that your phone is at least of the model number eight, with the 16.1 version of iOS… Let’s just say that from today on this combination will be quite enough to get all the perks, bells and whistles the AFP can offer, from videos of the exercises to the function of monitoring your health condition, daily activities and fitness training itself. Plus (no pun intended), it will be all fully up-to-date, brimming with every newest upgrade included by the company in the latest months. Which means, among many other things, dancing classes, intense pilates workout, rowing instruction, yoga lessons and more, all taught, as it is wont to be with Apple, by the best and finest, such as Scott Jurek and Jessica Skye who all the Fitness Plus users have already come to know and love. And let us not forget that you will also be entertained between (and in the process of) your achievements by the top stars, strolling to the stories told by the likes of Meghan Trainor or Hannah Waddingham and listening to Taylor Swift’s songs.

Now, there is some slight downside to this particular version of AFP which might discourage more perfectionist-minded fitnessheads among you: it won’t count the precise amount of calories you’ll lose during your physical sessions. Instead, it will only give you their estimated quantity. Yet, then again, taking into account all the goodies and, on top of all of the above, drastically improved compatibility (not only won’t you need Apple Watch for all of this, but you also will be able to stream all this contents on non-Apple TV sets via AirPlay), the overall savings is really worth thinking about. Especially considering that one subscription’s cost – and it is only $80 per year (or you can pay monthly, in which case it will be $10 per month) – gives access to Fitness Plus not to you alone: quite a few of your family members (maximum five) will enjoy it together with you.

After all, these savings might come in useful when (and we all know that it’s when and not if) Apple will churn out yet another tempting novelty.
