Asus Unveils Its New Zenbook 14, Its Premium Ultraportable That Aims To Do It All

Every PC manufacturer needs to have a flagship ultraportable: a device that is ultra-thin, ultra-light, ultra-premium, and ultra-expensive. At Asus, this role is filled by the Zenbook 14. The new version has just been presented at Computex in Taiwan.

The Zenbook 14 (2026) features, as has now become standard for Asus, a “ceraluminum” chassis (a blend of ceramic and aluminum). This is a strong aesthetic choice, giving it a distinct personality. No paint has been used on the chassis; the colors (pink, sand, and blue) come directly from the material itself. This is not a minor detail, as it helps prevent chips and micro-scratches caused by peeling paint—an important advantage. The Zenbook 14 focuses on mobility, weighing only 1.1 kilograms. Despite this, it includes a full range of ports (HDMI, USB Type-C, USB Type-A) to remain versatile—ideal for office use.
On the technical side, Asus offers a choice between an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor, an AMD Ryzen AI 400, or a Qualcomm Snapdragon X, along with 8, 16, or 32 GB of RAM. It features a 14-inch OLED display with 3K resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate, and promises up to 17 hours of video playback battery life (with Intel). In short, a high-end ultraportable aimed primarily at people who work anywhere and want the very best. No price has been announced yet due to the RAM supply crisis.

Asus is also expanding its Vivobook lineup
For those seeking something more affordable, Asus also introduced other laptops designed for office use. The Zenbook A models are less powerful, using Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, but are very lightweight. The Zenbook S (14 or 16) emphasizes thinness, while the Duo stands out with its dual-screen design.
At the same time, Asus is expanding its Vivobook range, more affordable laptops thanks to their plastic chassis. The lineup includes Vivobook 14, 16, and 18 models, as well as thinner and lighter Vivobook S14 and S16 versions. All are available with Intel, AMD, or Qualcomm processors, and none have announced prices yet.
In a context of crisis and uncertainty, Asus is playing it safe with incremental updates to its lineup. The manufacturer continues to rely on its proven strengths—but will that be enough to convince consumers? That will, of course, depend on the price.
