Artificial Intelligence Is Supposed to Help People to Find Jobs. LinkedIn Adds AI to Its Services
ChatGPT is already used by many internet users for writing resumes, getting advice, etc. But soon, if you want to use generative artificial intelligence to advance in your career, you will also be able to use the ChatGPT specifically designed for this purpose by LinkedIn. Recently, Microsoft’s professional social network surpassed one billion users. To celebrate this, the Redmond firm presented a new chatbot integrated into LinkedIn.
It is an AI similar to ChatGPT or Bing Chat, integrated into Microsoft’s search engine. However, LinkedIn’s AI is more adapted to job searching and consuming content found on the social network. To make the user more productive, LinkedIn offers new buttons that allow for the instant invocation of the chatbot, for example, to obtain the key points of an article scrolling on the news feed.
“Our new AI-based experience will analyze posts in your feed (from comments to articles to conversations) and reveal the main opportunities for you… with a simple click… in a few seconds. It will take on the hard work of analyzing long articles, videos, and posts and give you insights on how the information can be useful to you,” explains the social network.
An AI for Job Searching
Besides, it is also possible to invoke LinkedIn’s chatbot to inform yourself about what’s happening in the world. The AI will then provide answers based on information available on LinkedIn and the web. But most importantly, the new experience proposed by Microsoft will also assist users in their job search.
The chatbot can help the user find vacant positions. And when it finds a job listing, the user can consult the AI to find out if their profile is suitable for the position. The user can also invoke artificial intelligence to identify ways to better fit the job opening or assist the user in preparing for an interview.
A Virtual Coach
“Our new job search experience reinvents what is possible. Whether it’s transparently assessing whether a particular job is right for you or identifying the best way to position yourself for that job, we will help you find the job of your dreams and boost your confidence,” explains Tomer Cohen, product manager at LinkedIn.
In essence, it’s a kind of career coach powered by artificial intelligence. And according to a CNBC article, the new feature is based on GPT-4, the improved version of ChatGPT. The only downside is that this new experience is only available to premium LinkedIn users. Moreover, Microsoft has decided to roll it out gradually. As a result, only a few users of this premium offering will enjoy the new chatbot. Otherwise, it is not specified if the functionality is already available in French.
