Locate and Organize Your iTunes Media Library

iTunes is a media library, media player, and mobile device management application developed by Apple Inc.

iTunes works on devices running OS X and Microsoft Windows operating systems, such Mac, PC, iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, and the Apple TV. It is the best way to organize and enjoy music, movies, and TV shows, as well as shop for new ones. iTunes is the place where you can play and listen to songs you already own. It’s also an excellent place for users to explore genres they never knew, buy new songs, and build a personal music library filled with endless listening experiences.

Through the iTunes Store, users can purchase and download music, television shows, audiobooks, podcasts, movies, and, in some countries, movie rentals. Ringtones are also available on the iPhone and iPod Touch. Application software for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch can be downloaded from the App Store.

The iTunes Store has dozens of millions of songs, and a vast movie and TV show collection to choose from and watch on iTunes. Users can see their favorite TV episodes or hit movies anytime, anywhere, or download them if the user will be going somewhere they won’t have Wi-Fi.

It’s possible to buy iTunes gift cards and send them to friends and family from your iOS device or computer.  Users can buy gift cards in a range of denominations, and recipients can choose whatever they would like from the iTunes Store, App Store, iBooks Store, or Mac App Store.

iTunes has been credited with accelerating shifts within the music industry throughout the world. In fact, the pricing structure of iTunes encouraged the sale of single songs, allowing users to abandon the purchase of entire albums which are more expensive. This hastened the end of the Album Era in popular music.
