This accessory, without requiring Bluetooth, extends the usability by enhancing the charging and functionalities of the Apple mobile phone. During CES 2024, a particular case for iPhone that combines a protective case with a full physical keyboard at the bottom of the device has been shown.
Users will be able to activate functions such as bidet sprayer and drying with the simple order of their voice through digital assistants. (Kohler)
This case will hit the market with a value of 139 dollars and it is expected that the first version for the iPhone 14 Pro will arrive on February 1st. Later, the version for the iPhone 15 Pro will be launched in mid-March with a price of 159 dollars.
The device offers support for the fast charging of the iPhone 15 Pro and despite its considerable size, which could be uncomfortable initially, the case promises the functionality of wireless charging and will be available in two colors: bumblebee and London sky.
In addition, the first buyers will receive special editions that offer “VIP support” and priority access to future colors.
Following the concept of the Typo Keyboard from ten years ago, the tool is a reminder of a more traditional typing style that devices like the BlackBerry used.
In addition, what stands out the most from the design of the keyboard is that it does not cover any part of the iPhone screen, extending only the length of the device to facilitate writing.
It also has backlighting for use in the dark and keyboard shortcuts that allow navigation without the need to interact with the touch screen.
Behind the idea is a team of former employees of technology giants such as Apple, BlackBerry and Google. In fact, the founders of the company, Michael Fisher and Kevin Michaluk, are recognized in the technological world as MrMobile and CrackBerry Kevin, respectively.
They have proposed with Clicks to provide content creators with a physical keyboard that facilitates production and communication from the iPhone, with the same “satisfactory response that only real buttons can provide”.
In Fisher’s words, it incorporates features of computer keyboards, such as backlighting and a CMD key.
While Michaluk mentioned that they designed every detail of the keyboard, “from exactly how the buttons should feel to the keyboard layout, making sure it was intuitive for iPhone users”.
However, they have pointed out that the reduced size of the keys could pose a challenge for people with larger hands.
This device along with other interesting gadgets have been presented during the Consumer Electronics Show, one of the largest and most influential technology fairs in the world that takes place annually in the city of Las Vegas, in the United States. The event brings together manufacturers, developers, technology companies and enthusiasts from all over the world to present and explore the latest innovations in consumer electronics.
And in this edition of 2024, which was held from January 9 to 12, more than 130,000 attendees have visited the event to find the latest in electronic devices, hardware, software, virtual reality, automotive, smart appliances, wearable devices, robotics and much more.
