The Samsung Galaxy Note S8 flagships are strongly rumored to arrive this August or early September. They will be timed to the Apple iPhone 8 introduction date, or close to it, many experts believe. This is a risky move, considering the disaster that happened to the previous S7 series. It was a bomb, literally. And though it failed to cause any serious damage to properties and people, it certainly torpedoed the Samsung’s reputation.

So, the S8 and S8 Plus is their chance to win back the Android ‘iPhone’ title. Every runner up starts with the design. The Samsung flagships are strongly rumored to get the edge-to-edge display and the always-on display as LG G5 features. Because the back panel will be made of Gorilla Glass as well, the phone is going to be extremely fragile. It is promised; however, that the new smartphone will be waterproof and can withstand an unintentional drowning.
Exactly how the water protection is implemented, nobody knows, since the model will get a 3.5 mm headphones jack as well (which is the welcome gate that the water could come through.) As for the other sockets, there will be just one – a USB-Type C socket, for charging and the cradle dock, since Galaxy Note S8 and S8 Plus are going to get the Samsung Desktop Experience support. In a nutshell, you’ll be able to plug your smartphone into any display you have on hand and use your phone as a desk system, office editors and all.
Samsung engineers have added a Grace UI interface over the Android 7.1 Nougat. Surely, the flagships will get Bixby digital assistant aboard and 6 GB RAM in order to support the AI performance. The iterations by internal storage are similar to those of their competitors: 32GB and 64GB plus the SD card support. So, it would be 32GB / 64GB +128GB total.
The CPU specification is a mystery though, but we bet that it must be the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon to rival the A8 chipset in iPhone 8. The iris recognition can’t compete with the expected facial recognition by Apple though. So, Samsung put the money into the fitness and health pack.
The Samsung Galaxy Note S8 and Galaxy Note S8 Plus are promised to get a heart rate sensor and a SpO2 one, which can calculate your blood oxygen level when worn. Oxygen saturation is important for the human body and can mark your heart or breathing conditions. The normal oxygen level in one’s blood is circa 95%. The figure is determined by one’s age and shape. Measuring the blood oxygen level during and after workouts is very important and usually, special oximeters are used for the purpose.
With the Galaxy Note S8 and Galaxy Note S8 Plus, you get your very own pocket health center! Usually, those functions are delegated to the smart timepieces, but this year, Samsung decided to save your money (which is good news, because the flagships of 2017 will cost already cost you $1000 for the younger model or more). The price isn’t specified yet, but considering all the hardware and software needed to make it, it can’t be less than what we have estimated.
