Microsoft Surface Pro 4 (Intel Core M3, Late 2015) is the entry-level iteration of the fourth gen hybrid tablets designed and manufactured by Microsoft. It is a Skylake powered hybrid with larger touch screen as compared to its predecessors and with better resolution. The water cooling system has also been thoroughly improved. The outer design remained the same: a VaporMg seamless casing with bezel edges and a flip-out kickstand. In the bottom there are a magnet lock and a pogo pin power connector to plug a detachable keyboard\cover\battery in. Windows Surface Pro 4th Gen (late 2015) touch screen supports 10 touches and the handwriting with a Bluetooth powered Wacom digital pen. The tablet runs on entry-level and quite slow dual core Skylake processor with a trusted platform module. That means, the processor is capable of encrypting data, especially, personal data, providing a higher security level. Windows Surface Pro 4th Gen (late 2015) has three iterations regarding the CPU installed, every iteration subdivided into several models with various SSD and RAM capacity. Windows Surface Pro 4th Gen (late 2015, Intel Core M3-6Y30) features a 12.3-inch ClearType Full HD display, an 0.9 GHz Intel Core M3-6Y30 processor, an Intel HD Graphics 515 graphic processor, a 128 GB solid state drive aboard. The storage capacity can be expanded up to 200 GB with an SD card. Windows Surface Pro 4th Gen (late 2015) has an USB 3.0 with host support, 3.5 mm audio socket, 2 microphones, 2 Dolby Digital Plus stereo speakers, a Mini Display Port 1.2, one full HD webcam in the front and one in the rear. This is a non-GSM tablet, but it has Wi-Fi 802.11a/ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 for wireless connection. Windows Surface Pro 4th Gen (late 2015) is compatible with accessories for previous models and shipped with a N-trig Active pen but without a keyboard \ cover. Microsoft Surface 3 4G LTE (Intel Atom, Mid 2015) is the GSM version of the Microsoft Surface 3  (Intel Atom, Mid 2015), the cellular LTE module the only difference between them. The third tablet in the Surface line-up is a portable 2-in-1 computing device in a VaporMg seamless silver color casing with black bezel edges, a flip-out kickstand and a magnet lock for a detachable keyboard\cover. Windows Surface 3rd Gen has switched to Intel Atom processor and runs the latest Windows 10 OS. The aspect ratio has also been changed from 16:9 to 3:2. The screen supports 10 touches but no handwriting. It is slightly bigger than that of its’ predecessor and has higher ppi value. It also supports Bluetooth active pen and handwriting. This is a GSM powered tablet, that also has Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0 for wireless connection. Microsoft Surface 3 4G LTE (Intel Atom, Mid 2015) is shipped unlocked without a keyboard \ cover. Surface Hub 84 inch (Mid-2015) is the first interactive whiteboard designed and manufactured by Microsoft. It’s a high quality sensor display for viewing, modelling, drawing, handwriting either with a pen or a finger and videoconferencing. It doesn’t support TV screening. The matte LCD display sports 100-point multi-touch projective capacitance optically bonded sensor and 120 Hz refresh rate. It is flanked with two wide-angle HD cameras with a four-element microphone array each. The cameras are also equipped with infrared sensors and ambient light sensors to spot someone’s presence in the room. The light level in the room or data from infrared sensors prompts the hub to turn on or off. (more…)

Microsoft Surface Book (Intel Core i5, Late 2015) is the first 2-in-1 tablet-laptop designed and manufactured by Microsoft. It consists of a tablet or clipboard and detachable keyboard which can be locked in place on dynamic fulcrum hinge and open as a laptop cover. Surface Book is a Skylake powered hybrid either on i5 or i7 processor with an integrated GPU and an additional discrete graphic card in the keyboard casing. (more…)
