The company surprised with a basic laptop aimed at those looking for a competitive price without giving up the Mac experience.
Apple announced a wave of new and refreshed devices, from budget laptops to updates in its professional lineup and more powerful tablets. The new releases include the long-awaited MacBook Neo, the iPhone 17e, the iPad Air M4, new MacBook Pro and Air models with advanced chips, and Studio Display and Studio Display XDR monitors with top-tier specifications.
New features in iPhone 17e and iPad Air M4: more storage and power
The iPhone 17e arrives as Apple’s renewed entry-level offering, keeping the base price at USD 599 while doubling the initial storage to 256 GB compared to the previous generation.
Notable improvements include MagSafe wireless charging, a 6.1-inch Super Retina display with Ceramic Shield 2, IP68 resistance, and compatibility with satellite functions like Emergency SOS. The device features the A19 chip, enabling access to Apple Intelligence and running iOS 26. It is now available for preorder in black, white, and soft pink.
In tablets, the iPad Air M4 includes the M4 chip and increases RAM to 12 GB, boosting performance up to 2.3 times compared with the M1 model and doubling the speed in demanding tasks like 3D rendering.
It is offered in 11- and 13-inch versions, priced from USD 599 and USD 799 respectively, with Wi-Fi 7 and 5G connectivity. The design and display remain the same as previous models but include the latest innovations of iPadOS 26.

MacBook Neo: Apple’s most affordable laptop
Apple surprised with the MacBook Neo, a basic laptop aimed at those seeking a competitive price without sacrificing the Mac experience. With a starting price of USD 599 (USD 499 for education), it is the brand’s most accessible model.
It features an A18 Pro chip, a 13-inch Liquid Retina display, up to 16 hours of battery life, and a recycled aluminum design available in four colors. It stands out for its lightness, battery life, and inclusion of Apple Intelligence features.
In connectivity, the Neo offers two USB-C ports and a headphone jack but omits the MagSafe connector. The Magic Keyboard and trackpad are optimized for daily use, though the keyboard’s features are more basic than in other models. The base storage is 256 GB, expandable to 512 GB for an additional cost.

MacBook Air and Pro with M5 chips: greater performance and efficiency
The new MacBook Air M5 comes with improvements in storage, memory speed, and connectivity, available in 13- and 15-inch versions starting at USD 1,099.
The base SSD now offers 512 GB, RAM remains at 16 GB, and it now includes Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. The price increase is offset by a leap in performance for both everyday and professional tasks.
For advanced users, the MacBook Pro includes M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, with CPUs of up to 18 cores and GPUs of up to 40 cores, plus up to 48 GB of RAM and 1 TB of initial storage.
The Liquid Retina XDR display and Center Stage camera remain unchanged, but the addition of Thunderbolt 5 connectivity and Wi-Fi 7 stands out. Prices start at USD 1,699 for the base version and reach USD 2,699 for the 16-inch model. The new Fusion chip architecture promises higher performance and efficiency for professional and creative workloads.
