The Oppo Find N5 boasts an expansive 8.12-inch internal display. When folded shut, this feature continues to impress. The cover screen feels wonderfully normal (unlike the early days of foldables) and is barely narrower than an iPhone 16 Pro. This is quite an achievement for a book-style foldable. Content isn’t awkwardly squeezed, and the device’s remarkable thinness makes it feel like a typical, flat phone (in the best, non-gimmicky way).

It weighs 229 grams, lighter than Samsung and Google’s foldable models.

Both the cover and internal screens on the Find N5 are used almost equally. Many people opt for the front display for quick emails or brief scrolling breaks, while the internal display is perfect for longer videos and multitasking.
Both displays feature a 120Hz refresh rate, with peak brightness at 2,450 nits and 2,100 nits respectively. The screen remains visible in bright sunlight, though colors and contrast don’t quite match those on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Still, images look sharp.
The internal screen includes an anti-reflective film, which is particularly useful for such a large display, though the cover screen does not. Having one screen with this coating isn’t unusual since most phones lack it. The crease is impressively minimal, barely noticeable when the screen is lit or while watching videos, browsing photos, or scrolling through social media.

Alternatively, one app can become a floating window to move around the screen, even when not in split-screen mode. This functionality takes full advantage of the tablet-like display.
One unique feature of the Find N5 is its compatibility with iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Using the O Plus Connect app, media and files can be easily shared between the Find N5 and an iPhone without AirDrop. This capability across Android and iPhone is revolutionary. Additionally, the Find N5 can connect to a Mac to transfer files and mirror the display, essentially turning the foldable phone into a mini MacBook.
Though this feature is neat, its practicality may be limited. Turning a smaller display into a computer and relying on touch commands isn’t the most user-friendly approach, but it remains a cool capability.

Durable Build Makes It Less Worrisome to Use
Given its thinness, durability concerns are understandable, but the Find N5 feels sturdy. The phone is made from aluminum alloy, adding 30% more strength than the previous model. The cover display is nanocrystal glass, which is 20% more drop-resistant and 10% more scratch-resistant. The hinge, made from grade 5 titanium alloy, is sleek and secure, with no gap when folded. Opening and closing the phone is smooth each time.
The Find N5 is available in cosmic black and misty white. The matte black version provides a better grip and resists fingerprints.
Camera and Photos
The camera module strikes a balance between functionality and maintaining the phone’s thin profile. Oppo customized the camera system to be slimmer. The Find N5 features a 50-megapixel main camera, 8-megapixel ultrawide camera, and 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. Both cover and inner screens have 8-megapixel selfie cameras. Photos are bright and well-lit, whether capturing paella or pastries. The Find N5 can shoot 4K video at 60 frames per second.

Oppo claims up to 25 hours of continuous video streaming. In my tests, the battery performance was solid. The Find N5 features 512GB of storage and 16GB of RAM, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, improving performance by over 40% compared to the Find N4. AI features include call and document summaries, translations, and an AI eraser, effectively removing photobombers from photos.
The Find N5 feels remarkably normal, a high praise for a foldable phone. It’s thin, lightweight, practical, and enjoyable to use. While the high price tag might deter some from switching to a foldable phone, the Find N5 alleviates concerns about practicality and bulkiness. After experiencing its features, non-folding phones seem less impressive.
