When we wonder about the future, we imagine a completely different world than we live in today. Some of the things we can dream of now seem like they are impossible to achieve, but in reality are very realistically possible to happen 30 years from now. Nowadays we have many issues involving people’s social life and environment. Today’s article will talk about some of the future technologies that can actually solve these issues in 2050.
The famous American inventor, Raymond Kurzweil, predicts that in 2050 nanorobots will be able to connect our brains to the cloud. This will give us a complete immersion in virtual reality. We will be able to use our brains the same way we use our smartphones. Everyone will be able to expand and explore the different possibilities of their cortex through the cloud. Because of this, the people of 2050 are predicted to not have any memory problems
This probably sounds very frightening… but Kurzweil is sure that we will have the opportunity to bring our family back with the use of artificial intelligence. In 2050, we will send nanorobots to human brains to create a “seizure” of memories of our relatives. With the help of memory and DNA data, we will be able to create virtual versions of the ones who have passed away. Religious communities and organizations may be against this idea.
Are you not a fan of long rides? Imagine a train moving through a tunnel as fast as an airplane. This is the dream of Elon Musk, who founded Paypal, Tesla, and SpaceX. He is currently trying to create a train that will move at the speed of 1220km/hr along a vacuum tube. A ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles for example will take 35 mins as opposed to the 7.5 hours it takes now on an ordinary train.
Many people are scared for our future that robots will be taking place of humans in the job market. Fearing that there will be less job opportunities in the future. In 2020, artificial intelligence will motivate people to work. More than 2.3 million new job positions will be created as opposed to the 1.8 million professions we have now. We are talking 2020- only two years from now. Just imagine how much that number will grow in 30 years.
Forbes says that in 2020, the internet technology of things will be contained in 95% of new equipment. That means in 2050, everything will probably be connected in some way to the internet.
Business Insider is very certain that space tourism will be a thing in 2050. It will be a new leisure for people with a lot of money. Rocket companies such as Blue Origin of Jeff Bezos and SpaceX of Elon Musk will promote space flights for everyone. Full-fledge space tourism will be popular in 2050.
Unmanned vehicles will help us reduce the number of accidents and fatalities on the roads. It will also increase comfort, and reduce cognitive load, where people will actually prefer to live.
Forests may be able to replace our contemporary energy stations. The Bio Scientific company is now able to generate electricity from plant photosynthesis and this may be our new future.
Thermal energy from oceans is a great source of renewable energy that is not used in present time. The Bluerise company is trying to create a new source of energy by converting thermal energy of oceans. It will help us to crow out oil-based generators and other fossil resources that require conservation. However, we will maintain the balance of power systems. Thermal energy from oceans will play a very important role in the future of energy because it will be one of the few sources that will always be available.
The United Nations organization believes that in 2050, 2 billion people will join our planet. Due to this, the demand for food will grow by 70%. When this happens, 80% of people will live in cities. Accordingly, food will need to be sent to cities, so farms located on seashores or suburban lakes will shorten the time for delivery.
Drones have been flying to geoglyphs, which have been recently discovered in Peru. Deep underground mines and certain areas are simply inaccessible for us. The Inkonova company began working on creating drones that can fly, so they can move over land, climb mountains, and scan certain zones with the use of laser technology. These new drones can also create three dimensional maps. Thanks to this, we will be able to get a lot of new information about many previously unexplored areas and learn so much more about our planet.
