iMac Core 2 Duo 1.83 17-Inches (IG)

The iMac Core 2 Duo 1.83 IG with 17-inches screen is almost identical to the iMac Core Duo / 1.83 (IG) in everything except a newer and faster processor, a larger hard drive and graphics. Meant for educational purposes only, this iMac got much slower Intel GMA 950 integrated graphics but a new Core 2 Duo processor with a faster bus and larger cache and a hard drive doubled in capacity (180GB vs. 60GB). This iMacs line-up is known as Intel Macs. The iMac Core 2 Duo / 1.83 17-Inch (IG) is the all-in-one desktop computer in a polycarbonate casing behind the 17-inches screen, mounted on an aluminum stand with an adjusting hinge. The Core 2 Duo 1.83 17-inch features a 1.83 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor (T7200), with two independent processor “cores” on a single silicon chip, 512 MB of RAM, an 80 GB Serial ATA hard drive (7200 RPM), a slot-loading DVD-ROM/CD-RW “Combo” drive, an Intel GMA950 graphics processor with 64 MB of DDR2 SDRAM shared with main memory, a built-in iSight webcam, a microphone and stereo speakers, as well as 2 Firewire “400” and 3 USB 2.0 ports. It also has built-in AirPort Extreme (802.11g) and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, Gigabit Ethernet and mini-DVI capable of supporting a second display. The cooling system is CPU controlled and the in-built speakers are mounted beneath the 17-inches screen for the sound to bounce off the desk or other surface. iMac Core 2 Duo 2.0 17-Inches

The iMac Core 2 Duo 2.0 with 17-inches screen is almost identical to its predecessor – Mac G5/1.9 iSight. They share the design, weight and dimensions. But the processor is entirely new. Apple replaced Power PC processors for the Intel ones, applying the innovating double-core architecture. This iMacs line-up is known as Intel Macs. The iMac Core 2 Duo 2.0 is the all-in-one desktop computer in a polycarbonate casing behind the 17-inches screen, mounted on an aluminum stand with an adjusting hinge. The “Core 2 Duo” 2.0 17-inch features a 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor (T7200), with two independent processor “cores” on a single silicon chip, 1 GB of RAM, a 160 GB Serial ATA hard drive (7200 RPM), a slot-loading DVD+R DL “Super Drive”, ATI Radeon X1600 graphics with 128 MB of GDDR SDRAM (PCI-Express), a built-in iSight webcam, a microphone and stereo speakers, as well as 2 Firewire “400” and 3 USB 2.0 ports. MacBook 2,1 (13-Inch, Late 2006 and Mid 2007)

The MacBook 2,1 or the original polycarbonate MacBook (13-inch, Late 2006) and MacBook (13-inch, Mid 2007) laptop was thicker than its predecessor – the iBook G4, – but wider, due to its widescreen display. The original MacBook 1,1 and its version 1,2 released in November 2006, five months later, adopted Apple’s MagSafe power connector.
