Microsoft Surface Pro 3 (Intel Core i5, Mid 2014)

Microsoft Surface Pro 3 (Intel Core i5, Mid 2014) is the second iteration of the third gen hybrid tablets designed and manufactured by Microsoft. It’s a portable 2-in-1 computing device in a VaporMg seamless casing with bezel edges, a flip-out kickstand and the water cooling system. In the bottom there are a magnet lock and a pogo pin power connector to plug a detachable keyboard\cover\battery in. Windows Surface Pro 3rd Gen (mid 2014) touch screen supports 10 touches and the handwriting with a Bluetooth powered Wacom digital pen. The tablet runs on mid-class dual core Haswell processor with a trusted platform module. That means, the processor is capable of encrypting data, especially, personal data, providing a higher security level. Windows Surface Pro 3rd Gen (mid 2014) got a larger display with higher resolution and has three iterations, the Intel Core i5 one being the mid-class model. Windows Surface Pro 3rd Gen (mid 2014) features a 12-inch ClearType Full HD display, a 1.5 GHz Intel Core i5-4300U processor, an Intel HD Graphics 4400 graphic processor, 64 GB \ 128 GB \ 256 \ 512 GB solid state drive aboard. The storage capacity can be expanded up to 200 GB with an SD card. Windows Surface Pro 2nd Gen (late 2013) has an USB 3.0 with host support, 3.5 mm audio socket, 2 microphones, 2 Dolby Digital Plus stereo speakers, a Mini Display Port 1.2, one full HD webcam in the front and one in the rear. This is a non-GSM tablet, but it has Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 for wireless connection. Microsoft Surface 3 4G LTE (Intel Atom, Mid 2015) is the GSM version of the Microsoft Surface 3  (Intel Atom, Mid 2015), the cellular LTE module the only difference between them. The third tablet in the Surface line-up is a portable 2-in-1 computing device in a VaporMg seamless silver color casing with black bezel edges, a flip-out kickstand and a magnet lock for a detachable keyboard\cover. Windows Surface 3rd Gen has switched to Intel Atom processor and runs the latest Windows 10 OS. The aspect ratio has also been changed from 16:9 to 3:2. The screen supports 10 touches but no handwriting. It is slightly bigger than that of its’ predecessor and has higher ppi value. It also supports Bluetooth active pen and handwriting. Microsoft Surface 3 4G LTE (Intel Atom, Mid 2015) features a 10.8-inch ClearType Full HD display, a quad core 1.6 GHz Intel Atom (x7-Z8700) processor, Intel HD Graphics, 64 GB \ 128 GB SSD aboard. The storage capacity can be expanded up to 200 GB with an SD card. Type Cover

Type Cover is an accessory for Windows Surface hybrid tablets. It looks like a slim, traditional keyboard with moving keys. Users get the speed and feel of a classic keyboard, and they can go from tablet to laptop in an instant. This keyboard is pressure sensitive with tactile scissor-switch keys, a touchpad and a magnetic docking connection to attach Type Cover to the tablet. The keyboard can hang loose and won’t go. When it is folded back, the Surface detects no key pressure. Type Cover is available separately from Microsoft Windows Surfaces. (more…)

Surface Hub 84 Inch (Mid-2015)

Surface Hub 84 inch (Mid-2015) is the first interactive whiteboard designed and manufactured by Microsoft. It’s a high quality sensor display for viewing, modelling, drawing, handwriting either with a pen or a finger and videoconferencing. It doesn’t support TV screening. The matte LCD display sports 100-point multi-touch projective capacitance optically bonded sensor and 120 Hz refresh rate. It is flanked with two wide-angle HD cameras with a four-element microphone array each. The cameras are also equipped with infrared sensors and ambient light sensors to spot someone’s presence in the room. The light level in the room or data from infrared sensors prompts the hub to turn on or off. (more…)
