iPhone XR – Full Phone Information
Though similar to the iPhone XS in design, the iPhone XR has an LCD Liquid Retina display with lesser resolution and pixels density. The iPhone XR shares a 7 nanometer chip A12 Bionic with the premium models.
Due to the powerful chip the iPhone XR can do with single back camera. All the filters, including the bokeh, remains. The steel wrap band around the body is replaced with an aluminum one, the back panel is made of glass to support the wireless charging.
The edge-to-edge screen is LCD Liquid Retina featuring the 828 x 1792‑pixel resolution with 326 ppi.
The iPhone XR supports 3G and 4G LTE. The smartphone features also the embedded SIM card or eSIM (requires carrier’s support). There are models with dual SIM for mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau. Other wireless connections include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC.
The iPhone XR comes in five vibrant colors: Black, Red, Yellow, Blue and Coral. The wireless charger is available for an extra cost.

Miscellaneous
- The water and dust protection is a grade lower than that of the iPhone XS and XS Max – only IP67 vs. IP68.
- The iPhone XR shipping date postponed for a month because Apple ran into a couple of problems with the LCD screen. Firstly, Apple has to tweak the software to work with the edge-to-edge LCD screen. Secondly, the supplier allegedly has troubles with cutting the notch in the panels.
