These controllers connect via Bluetooth. So you have to go to the Settings on your Apple device and slide the Bluetooth toggle On. Then take your PS4 controller, push the PS button and share button simultaneously and hold them for 5 seconds. The light bar should start blinking. If it doesn’t, make sure your controller is charged and repeat the steps.

Once the light bar blinks, the controller must appear in Bluetooth settings on your device as “Dualshock 4 Wireless Controller”. Tap it to connect. The light bar on your controller must turn pink which means that now these two gadgets are paired. Now you can test it in any RPG ported game or simulator.

How to connect Xbox One S Controller

Before booking up this controller you have to do some homework first. Make sure that you have a model number 1708 that comes with the Xbox One S. This is the only Bluetooth controller from Microsoft and its firmware is constantly updated. So make sure to connect the controller to your PC or Xbox and check the firmware version. Update it if it’s obsolete. If you don’t, the controller will probably fail to connect.

Once you have checked the controller, turn the Bluetooth on your Apple device, turn on the controller and push the connect button at the top. Wait for the Xbox logo to start blinking rapidly. Once the logo blinks, the controller must appear in Bluetooth settings on your device as “Xbox One S Controller”. Tap it to connect and you’re in the game!

The PS4 Dualshock 4 Controller and the Xbox One S Controller are available separately. If you don’t have any gaming console at all, you can buy just a controller. We recommend to choose the PS 4 DualShock because it’s cheaper and easier to pair.

On the downside, we must warn you that both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One S will be soon replaced with the completely revamped successors next year. They will surely arrive with new controllers, but we don’t know if they will be supported by Apple. Probably, the Cupertino company will roll out their own proprietary controller.
