iPod Touch (3rd Gen) 32 GB, 64 GB

The iPod touch 3rd gen design mimics the iPod touch 2nd gen, while internally the device is almost identical to the iPhone 3GS excluding cellular mode, A-GPS, digital compass and in-built camera. The iPod touch 3rd gen got the same 800 MHz processor as the iPhone 3GS to greatly enhance its overall performance and OpenGL ES 2.0 support for better graphics performance. The device fully supports iOS4 and iOS5. Like the iPod of the previous generation, the iPod touch 3rd gen has the same multi-touch 3.5 screen with 320 x 480 resolution, an accelerometer to automatically adjust the screen either in portrait or in landscape mode, a light sensor to tweak screen brightness and an integrated Wi-Fi (802.11b/g, hardware is capable of 802.11n) module. An external volume control and an integrated speaker have been added to the device, but the microphone is built in the Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic. The battery supports 30 hours of music playback and 6 hours of video playback. The iPod touch 3rd gen got a Voice Control for navigation and the VoiceOver screen reader for visually impaired people. iPod Touch MC 2nd Gen Jailbreak-proof

The iPod touch MC 2nd gen has a new jailbreak-proof bootrom, at least, Apple engineers declared it to be. Other than that, the MC model is identical to the ordinary iPod touch 2nd gen and the only way to tell the difference is to look up the model number. Apple corporation change В to C, that’s where MC in the model title is from. The model got a different marketing as well. Rather than a portable player, the iPod touch 2nd gen was advertised as the smallest portable PC with web access and the gaming device. Due to that fact, some vendors marketed this iPod as the third generation model, which is completely wrong. The iPod touch 2nd gen mimics iPhone 3G with its chromed steel back and rounded corners but lacks cellular mode, A-GPS and in-built camera. It’s thicker but lighter than the iPod touch 1st gen and sports a silver front trim. The player shares the same multi-touch 3.5 screen with 320 x 480 resolution, an accelerometer to automatically adjust the screen either in portrait or in landscape mode, a light sensor to tweak screen brightness and an integrated Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) module. An external volume control and an integrated speaker have been added to the device, but the microphone is built in the Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic. The battery life was enhanced up to 36 hours of music playback and 6 hours of video playback. The iPod touch 2nd gen shares the OS with the iPhone and has a lot of iPhone features and apps in a bundle: Safari web browser, YouTube, calendar, contacts, clock, calculator, email, stocks, notes and weather as well as telltale iPod features: Genius playlists maker and a shake-to- “shuffle” function plus Nike+ Kit support. Keep in mind though, that iPod 2nd gen lacks the GSM module and is not capable of geo position when off wi-fi network. (more…)

iPod Touch (2nd Gen) 8, 16, 32 GB

iPod Touch 1st Gen 8, 16, 32 GB

The iPod touch 1st gen is, in fact, an iPhone short of cellular mode. The player shares the same multi-touch 3.5 screen with 320 x 480 resolution, an accelerometer to automatically adjust the screen either in portrait or in landscape mode, a light sensor to tweak screen brightness and an integrated Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) module. But obviously the iPod touch 1st gen lacks a speaker and microphone. Lacking the sim-card module, the iPod touch 1st gen looks thinner and shorter than the original iPhone, the display outer trim is not silver but black and the headphone jack is on the bottom and not recessed. Initially, there were just two models of the iPod touch 1st gen: 8 GB and 16 GB, yet later another 32 GB model was introduced on February 5, 2008. The battery supports 22 hours of music playback and 5 hours of video playback. As to the software, the iPod touch 1st gen runs the same iPhone OS and has a lot of iPhone features and apps in a bundle: Safari web browser, YouTube, calendar, contacts, clock, and calculator apps. Email, stocks, notes and weather were initially unavailable to the iPod Touch 1st gen users, but since January 15, 2008, Apple started selling the Mail, Maps, Stocks, Weather, and Notes for US$19.99 and since February 5, 2008 included them into all the iPod touch models from the box. Keep in mind though, that iPod 1st gen lacks the GSM module and is not capable of geo position when off wi-fi network. (more…)

iPod Nano 6th Gen 1.54” Mulititouch

The iPod nano 6th gen has been changed radically in design and technologies. In shape it looks more like an iPod shuffle down to the clip, but preserved the aluminum and glass case of its predecessor. The same goes for a built-in integrated pedometer and FM radio with “live pause” feature as well as Nike+iPod, VoiceOver, and “Shake to Shuffle” functions. The smallest touch-controlled iPod ever has a 1.54″ color TFT display (240 x 240, 220 ppi), supports a multitouch interface on an iOS-inspired operating system but obviously cannot run either iOS applications or games compatible with previous iPod model. Equally, a microphone, a speaker, or a camera doesn’t fit in this really small iPod nano. The fully charged iPod nano 6th gen supports 24 hours of music playback (this iPod can’t play video). It is available in two capacities (8GB and 16 GB) and seven colors each: silver, graphite, blue, green, orange, pink and (PRODUCT) RED Special Edition. (more…)

iPod Nano 4th Gen 8 GB 16 GB

With public being a bit disappointed with the third generation design, Apple engineers improved the iPod nano 4th gen greatly. They’ve given it an aluminum and glass wraparound case as well as the portrait-oriented 2-inch color LCD display with a blue-white LED backlight. The iPod nano 4th gen is slimmer and thinner than its’ predecessor. The battery life for video playback has slimmed down as well from 5 to 4 hours without recharge, while the life span for music playback remains the same – 24 hours. There are two capacities of the iPod nano 4th gen, the 8GB model and the 16 GB one and both are available in nine colors: silver, black, blue, orange, purple, yellow, green, pink and (PRODUCT) RED Special Edition. Among other amazing features the iPod nano 4th gen gets a built-in accelerometer. Second, a gentle shake shuffles the songs. The Genius software function to make a playlists of songs which are most likely to go together has been also improved. The software enhancement is inspired by MacOS X Leopard and technically developed on base of the iPhone OS X, but includes larger text and spoken menu items.
